Deep Pigmentation

What is pigmentation?
Pigmentation / Hyper pigmentation is a common skin condition, where some areas or patches of skin turn darker in colour. It is usually a harmless condition, caused when there is too much of the pigment, melanin on the surface of the skin.

Pigmentation has 2 main forms: Hyper pigmentation and Hypo pigmentation, which both have several symptoms.

Hyper pigmentation is where patches of skin become darker in colour than normal, Hypo pigmentation is the reverse process, where patches of skin become lighter than surrounding skin. However, treatable pigment includes, freckles, age/liver/sunspots and general sun damage.

Clients will notice a difference after one treatment. Up to 4 treatments may be required and can be preformed 4 – 6 weeks apart. After treatment the pigment will appear darker, this will naturally disappear in 4 – 6 days post treatment.

It is essential to wear a high sun protection factor before and after treatments. Epionce SPF 50 can be purchased at Donna Donaghy Skincare & Laser.
